Our Services
General Practitioners who understand service
All our GPs possess expertise in Veteran healthcare. Our clinical staff are highly familiar with the medical and medical-related issues experienced by Veterans. This includes health conditions common to the Veteran community, and the complex medical funding and approvals landscape, including the Medicare and private systems, and the DVA funding process.
Our Veteran GPs are well versed in the health concerns that commonly affect Veteran patients including complex, chronic disease such as chronic pain, tinnitus, gastrointestinal issues, back pain, joint pain or discomfort, and mental health conditions.
Whether you require annual or routine check-ups, diagnostic support for claims and assessments, the management of a CVC, or a bespoke treatment plan that incorporates multidisciplinary healthcare, our GPs can provide a continuity of care that understands your medical and service history.
Our Veteran GPs are available for face-to-face and telehealth appointments from our Brisbane centre.
Veteran GP services can include:
- General health assessments
- Monitoring blood pressure
- Chronic disease management, including Diabetes
- Permanent Impairment (PI) Assessments
- Women’s health
- Coordinated Veteran Care (CVC) Plans and health assessments
- Care for acute illnesses and injuries.

The Benefits of Service-Aware General Practitioners
Familiarity with Veteran Health Conditions: Our GPs specialise in Veteran health, and have developed a strong understanding of the conditions and ailments that commonly affect Veterans, including successful therapies and treatment solutions. Veterans often experience multiple chronic conditions that require an understanding of innovative treatments to address. Total Veteran Healthcare treatment plans can involve robust escalation options, should base line treatments prove ineffective.
Knowledge of the Medical System: The Veteran medical system is complex and can be difficult to navigate if your regular GP does not have a detailed understanding of the many services and treatment options available to Veterans, particularly those with White and Gold Card status. Optimal Veteran healthcare is underpinned by a combination of services from medical facilities and specialists. Understanding this complex landscape is necessary to provide a timely, high quality, and clinically appropriate use of services. This can only be achieved if a GP understands how these facilities, clinicians, and government bodies interact.
Understanding the Psychological Impact of Service: Veterans are not like other patients. The experiences of a career in the Australian Defence Force and transitioning to civilian life creates a highly specific environment very different to that of the everyday Australian. Veteran GPs posses understanding and experience that allows them to develop clinically appropriate treatment plans tailored to the needs of each individual Veteran.
